What is Ranbhoomi Board Represents?

The board is an illustrative depiction of the 18 days battle of Mahabharata which took place on the terrains of Kurukshetra. Favorable events for both the teams, namely Pandavas and Kauravas, have been plotted throughout the board.

Events on the board represent divine weapons Invoked by warriors. These divine weapons can be countered by the weapons given in the deck of cards. 

Is Ranbhoomi - Kurukshetra a Wargame or strategy game?

No. It is a simple, easy to play game with minimal difficulty designed for young kids. If you are looking for a complex strategy game or table top wargame, this is not the one. Easy mode of the game is of similar difficulty level as snake and ladder. A simple element of strategy is added by Divyastra Cards.

Is there a chance that Kaurava can win in Ranbhoomi - Kurukshetra board game?

No, however a Kaurava soldier can survive the war and in the end become part of Samrat Yudhishthira's kingdom.

How many Divyastras are there in the card deck?

There are 21 unique Divyastras which are categorized into three levels based on there capabilities. There are total 44 cards in the deck. Higher the card level, rarer it is.

What do the player tokens represent?

The player tokens are decorated with the insignias of various kingdoms that participated in the Mahabharata war. The token defines the alignments of the players and the events on the board affect the player accordingly

What does the dice represent?

The dice represents the fact that soldiers in the armies are following the instructions of their commanders. Dice is the commander that tells the players where to fight.

How to use Divyastras in Ranbhoomi - Kurukshetra?

Players are distributed equal number of Divyastras from the deck before start of the game. These Divyastras can be used to counter the Divyastras on the board or player vs player duels in case both end up on the same spot.

How does Divyastra levels work? 

Divyastras are categorized in three levels. Level 1 are weapons of Trideva and are the most destructive. Level 2 are weapons belonging to Indra and the thirty Gods. Level 3 are mostly magical weapons. Lower level weapons can be countered by any higher level weapon.

Can Divyastras of same level counter each-other?

There are certain combinations like Varunastra can counter Agneyastra , Sammohanastra can be countered by Pragyastra etc. These combinations are depicted on each cards.

Can two players fight each other on the board?

If two players of the opposing armies land on the same spot then incoming player can attack using Divyastras. Other player will then try to counter it using his/her Divyastras.

Can Ranbhoomi - Kurukshetra be played solo?

Yes. The board represents the battlefield of Kurukshetra and a player can play against the board. However as mentioned on the box we recommend 2-6 players for optimal experience.

Can Ranbhoomi - Kurukshetra be played in more than one ways?

Yes. In the booklet we have suggested two modes. Soldier mode is easy and can be played with even 5 year olds and does not involve divyastras. Warrior mode involves usage of divyastras and is recommended for 7+ age group. In fact we encourage players to come up with variations of their own using the game assets and share with the world to make this even bigger phenomenon.
